I am sure you have already been asked, but how did you compare your initial impressions and experience of Arcs with your initial impressions and experience with Oath? Oath to me was so game-changing in my limited board game experience. Root felt like the cornerstone of why I love board games, but then Oath brought me to a new landscape. What would you say Arcs provided that Oath didn't or maybe struggled at? Thanks for your videos Sam!

I have to say, I love your boardgame collection. And I never say this. I'm not usually one to comment on youtubers' collections. They get the games for free, sorry I'm not impressed and they're usually bizzare collections of all sorts of different games that you know they're never going to play again. Yet somehow I feel you make the most of yours because I'm looking at your games and it makes sense, I love almost all of them. It is a bit odd that you can play something as complex as Pendragon yet prefer Terra Nova over Terra Mystica. But I'd happily play all of your games and have played most of them.

I love it. Hands down Werhle's most approachable game. I'm hoping my game group feels the same way since both Root and Oath were too much for them.

The artwork is magnificent , as in Root . Feels like Root in space . Factions , tricks , different ways to score, ressources that can be spent for actions , sounds familiar .

My regret at not backing the Kickstarter grows! Can we expect a video on The Blighted Reach??

As I don't have a great ability to get in person games going as much as I would like, I have been playing a very large amount of digital board games over the last few years. I really hope Arcs gets a digital adaptation as this is my first time really learning what the game is about, and it definitely sounds fun and crazy. I'm pretty sure I understand more or less how all the mechanics work based on the video, but it would be cool to see a mock up of a few turns to see the whole process in action. Or maybe even a little footage of your next session would be cool. Either way, this is on my radar now!

I just preordered it yesterday based on the all the good things I've been hearing. I did not order the campaign box. I need to hear a little bit more about the campaign game before I'm sold on it. It sounds like it does some interesting things, but I'm not usually all that interested in stringing games together - so we'll see.

But how does this trick-taking element work out thematically? That's one of the areas if the game where I'm failing to see the fun. The mechanic might provide a lot of juicy choices, but that doesn't mean a story is being told.

Please help me. When i play "something snapped" does the card discarded mean just a card discarded from a discard token action or does discarding a card mean anything that goes into a discard pile?

I don't necessarily disagree with this ranking in a vacuum but it's so contextual that I wouldn't depend much on it. Assuming 4 players, which is the optimal number for Root, it comes down to how healthy is the reach level. So in a game with cats, birds and a vagabond the conspiracy can actually be really powerful. I've personally won multiple times with it (not that that's indicative) and there are many factors that go into it's success like reach, players underestimating you and how well you can bluff. It's an extremely difficult faction to play so in that sense it's weaker because you have to play it optimally to be successful and demands a lot from you. Likewise, in a game with the rebels and the lizards, the rebels don't stand a chance because the lizards can so effortlessly destroy their bases. And both factions have such low reach that it can really throw the game off balance. There are many other similar examples but end of the day, like all these games, it comes down to who will snowball ahead so much that no one will be able to stop them and no faction has a distinct advantage because that comes purely down to players priorities and neglects. That's what makes this game so great. Anything is possible but it doesn't last long so you can take out your frustration in the next game.

What if the corvids took a card from you before you had your go? This is in adset and then you start with only 2 cards. You can’t get another card by other means, and there are lizards that could stop any building. What is the best plan of action then?

My friends and i boght the Steam Version yesterday and played 3 games for 4 hours straight. I personally love the woodland alliance. In the second game i accidently won because i didnt read a card right. I thought the "Remove all enemy from a X clearing" would let me choose one clearing. But it just wiped out all Mouse Clearings giving 16 Victorypoints in 1 Turn xD was the shortest of the 3 rounds.
